When you see and hear art in everything that you encounter, life just becomes brighter. The symphony of everyday traffic. The serenity of the various elements of nature. Everywhere you go, life has a soundtrack. Today, I sat down with someone whose journey I have admired for some time, that has been responsible for the key elements of various sounds you’re probably familiar with. From scoring the avatar two trailer to working with some of your favorite rappers like Loe shimmy, Kodak, Real Boston Richey, Bossman Dlow, and Luh Tyler he isn’t new to this, he’s true to this.

SaiDon is a Broward County native that created his own community with (Gated Community Records) and his own genre of sound he refers to as “DreamGlo”. He is currently working on projects that will truly embody it’s essence. When asked to describe it, he referred to it as a combination of “Neo soul, hard hitting drums, and ambient music.”
“The energy is very chill, intentional, and spiritual.”

From speaking to SaiDon, I picked up that his overall demeanor directly reflects into his music style, and despite not having a background in music, his father‘s love for artists like Mos Def, Erykah Badu, and A Tribe Called Quest played some part in influencing his love for it today.
I asked him if he thinks life would be different if he never pursued music and he responded, “Life is funny and you just end up becoming who you’re meant to be. So if it wasn’t music, the ambition and creativity would’ve been in me no matter what I did.”

SaiDon began making music around 15/16 and once he got to college opened a studio (Gated Community Records). He says fondly, “Somewhere along the way it took a mind of its own, and it wasn’t the initial intention, but it started to really become a community.”
Him wanting local artist to feel seen and heard led him to create (Saicology) which spans five projects featuring various artists, with the intention of putting their individual talents on the forefront. Through working with many artists in many different forms, his greatest takeaway is his learned ability to pivot and succeed in any circumstance he faces.
“The biggest thing I’ve seen through all of this is that I’m worth it and my beats are worth it. The people around me keeps me motivated. Everyone is working and making big moves so if I don’t necessarily get to work with the big artist I love building with someone that is next up.”
I ask him what we can expect from “Dreamglo” and what does the future look like for him.
“Dreamglo is exciting to me because it’s a different energy. I just really want to spread my music because of the therapeutic and feels good. In the future, I want to do more indie pop, remakes, and scoring and I’ve built a great team so I have all the resources I need and there are no excuses. A Grammy is definitely in my future and I’m excited for what’s next.”
