Beauty is more than skin deep has been a saying that resonated with me for quite some time. In a world that is driven by vanity I seek out individuals that embody something greater than what can be seen at a glance. With her holistic approach to self-care and deeply insightful approach to life @Jasmineneely_ is a beautiful example of what putting your belief in God and creating and living in alignment can do for yourself and your community.

Jasmine is an aesthetician that has a firm belief in how transformative giving yourself the time to replenish can be. She seeks to achieve this through her business @facedbyjas. “I’m here to teach people to take time out for themselves and to meet themselves at a deeper level.” She says, “In every day life people don’t get to close their eyes and rest. When I service them, I’m not just their aesthetician, I’m the therapist too. They leave it all on the table.” In the hectic climate we live in, mindfulness seems to be an after afterthought to many, but she believes that giving yourself that love is more than necessary, and what God intended for all of us.

When I took notice of how big of a role her faith played in a lot of things she mentioned, I asked her to elaborate and she replied, “God doesn’t just play a big part. God is the only part. I’ve experienced loss, lost my job, been lost in life, and I had to listen to God because that’s all I had. He led me down the right path.” We share the sentiments that entrepreneurship is more than a financial journey, but an eye-opening path of self discovery as well. “In my life, I’ve learned that I can’t listen to people. I can be inspired, but this journey is mine and you can’t skip steps to get there quicker. I only have myself, and my business is an extension of me, so this is very spiritual.”
She let me know that personal challenges that she faced, including the loss of her boyfriend that she loved dearly, set her down the path to pursuing her career and a friend’s encouraging words, pushed her to go to school and become serious about it. She made a big name for herself in her city, but after the painful experience decided she wanted something new and made a move to Atlanta. Jasmine isn’t just mindful of her skin care, but every facet of her life as well. “What and who you entertain can have a big effect on your life, so I’m glad that I’ve grown from the influence of the people in mine.”
Her pursuit of teaching and embodying self-love is quite inspiring. “When you love yourself, you level up in life completely, and put yourself at a different frequency. You can only receive as much love as you give yourself and your body can’t do as much as your mind. The balance of mind and body won’t look the same every day, but you have to actively work on it and become one with yourself, so you can be true to yourself.”
Over the course of our conversation I felt a very healing and positive response as most of our conversations leave me. When I asked her if there was anything that she could say that could help to inspire someone that might feel a bit lost on their journey in life and in business, she wanted me to make it abundantly clear that God never forgets that you need to be provided for, so no matter how shaky things get always know that you’ll be okay. The quote that she left me with that inspires her in her day-to-day life will now also help me in mine. “The best way to predict your future is to create it.”
