“What is something you would tell someone if they hope to be successful?” I asked once his mission became clear to me. “There’s so many outlets that you can find and do better with your life, so whatever you are doing give it your all. Do everything in your power to get to the next level and fall in love with the process.”
The goal of Dupont Leveaux is to create an atmosphere of amplifi-cation for people in the world that excel respectively in their skill, art, or sport. Today I sat down with someone that has a blend of all three. What rang loudly throughout our conversation was a deep belief in discipline, transparency, and drive to become better. With punchy bars, accounts of love making escapades, and melodic beats his style definitely draws you in. One thing that he said resonated with me deeply, “Tell yourself I’ve got to get it done now. When you think you have time, someone else in the world is surpassing you.” Though on tracks like BETTER THAN ME he lets it be known that this isn’t likely for him.
Truth also tells me that he has been making music since the age of 10 and besides being something he has a genuine love for he just really enjoys making people feel good. When asked what amplifies his confidence that rang through tracks HIM and FNF (can be found on Hous Real?) he responds, “I feel like the love that I received growing up made me confident in the way that I think and express myself. I believe in humility, but how you carry yourself says a lot about you. Always think highly of yourself.”
His music allows him to create a platform for people to feel seen and heard which is really important to him. He expressed to me that not a lot of people have the courage to talk about what they’re going through and he feels like as an artist, he sees himself going further, but already acknowledges the change that he’s made on other lives. “Faith matters more than work ethic and you don’t doubt what God is capable of. With a strong belief system, you can make anything happen.”
