Star power is a blessing that many want to have but few truly embody. The ability to navigate multiple crafts and be equally as talented in each of them is jaw-dropping and inspiring to put it simply.

Wifey Baby is a rapper, actress, writer, and singer just to name a few things on her resume and recently, I had the pleasure of speaking with her about what exactly made her become the larger than life entertainer that she is today.
“I started rapping around 16 but I was just playing around and at 23, I released a song that everyone loved and I decided to start taking it more seriously. For me, rap became an outlet that let me get all my emotions out because I used to hold so much in. Rapping has really changed my life and I’m able to get so much off my chest and relieve stress”
With songs that immediately make anyone stop and rap along, and captivating roles in movies and tv shows, Wifey has definitely made her impact, but I’m curious to find out how the journey of being a rapper and actress has impacted her.

>>> “Rapping has opened a lot of doors for you with your songs being featured on soundtracks for TV and you’ve been in multiple roles on film. What is something that you’ve learned along the way?”
“I had to learn to be confident in myself without anyone telling me and what God has for you is always going to be for you. The sky isn’t even the limit so when the support comes later, it isn’t needed, but it’s appreciated. All the experiences that I’ve had in my life have helped to shape me into who I am and guided me through my career. I realized the more work that I put in was the more that I would get blessed and you can do anything you put your mind to, but if you never try, then you’ve already failed.”
>>> “So what advice would you give to your younger self?”

“I would tell her don’t let people influence her music. She should just be herself and don’t change her thought process. When you put your best foot forward, it will eventually all come to you and you can’t cheat the grind. You have to hit the pavement.”
Wifey‘s journey has been far from easy and through speaking to her it becomes more apparent to me that her ability to put herself out there, even when she wasn’t completely sure has helped her blossom into the woman that she is today.
“When an opportunity presents itself jump on it, but it’s on you to hone in on your skills and perfect your craft to make it better. A lot of people think that everything is supposed to just be given to them, but it’s not anyone’s else’s job to make the world like you. You have to show up, believe in yourself, and work hard. No matter where I am or what opportunity I have I’m going to show up and do my best.”

Recently you were featured in Magic City an American Fantasy. How has Magic City helped you on your journey in life and business?
“I always say other clubs made me but Magic City changed me. They present opportunities that no one else gives and we get to broadcast our talents and take ourselves to the next level. You can’t help but win there. There’s no ceiling in Magic City and Mr. Magic really kicked the door down for us in so many ways.”

Learning about all the things that have helped to shape her has left me with some valuable gems to take on my own journey. To conclude our interview, I ask wifey what is the most important thing to keep in mind and what is some advice that she can give our readers.
Always nurture your relationship with your family, take care of your health, and focus on your mental. Your sanity should mean more than anything to you and even though sometimes it can be easy to focus on the negative, you should give way more energy to the positive, but let all of it motivate you.
